Hearts Meander Free Motion Quilting Tutorial using Full Line Stencil from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

It’s been a minute since we did a free motion quilting tutorial on a home sewing machine. But we just did a MAJOR restock on all of our Full Line Stencil free motion quilting supplies, so we thought now was the perfect time!

Today we are working with the new I Love It! stencil which has a really cute heart meander pattern. It would be so cute for a Valentine’s Day quilt, or just a quilt for someone you love.

I cover how to use the stencil and pounce pad to transfer the markings to your quilt top ...

Old German Design Quilted 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

I love playing with the pieces of one block to create new variations of the basic block. When I started playing with this design I thought it had some possibilities, but it has stretched to way more variations than I thought it would, and the more block variations there are, the more layouts of those blocks are possible.

Love the second design.

Strawberries and Chocolate 1, 2 from Virtual Quilter

This probably makes strawberries and cream, or icecream, the healthy option!

This project file was born when I was testing different background fabrics for the Strawberry Cross block designs … just randomly trying different fabrics to see if they would work, as a very light whitish fabric, which would have been my first choice didn’t work with the white strawberry flowers.

By the way, I settled for a pale green, or lime flavour, for the block sampler!

Easy Tiger Stripe All Over Free Motion Quilting Stitch Perfect for Modern Triangle & Diamond Quilts from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

I am in love with this month’s free motion quilting stencil. The Tiger Stripe is super easy to master, and it provides a great dense, all over quilting design that is pretty quick to stitch up.

All you have to do is follow the lines to swoop back and forth. As long as you can keep your points pointy and your swoops gentle, is is guaranteed to look fantastic.

This stencil comes in two sizes and I show you how to use the Pounce Pad with Full Line Stencil to mark out your design, follow the lines when you ...

White on Bright 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 from Virtual Quilter

New day … new year … and a new project file to share.

I seem to have started a new theme too … plain coloured backgrounds.

My new Year resolution is to get all my block library catalogued, with all pieced blocks, and all applique blocks, with their matching motifs and quilting stencils in an easy to search system!

Wish me luck!

Wishing you all a wonderful, happy and healthy New Year.

My New Quilting Stencils from Nestlings By Robin

In 2018 I designed a whole line of
tulip themed quilting stencils.
Here I am with them in the Quilting Creations booth
at Houston Market...So Exciting!

I learned a lot doing these.  I assumed (HA) that I
could magically transfer my outline applique
drawings to stencil and I basically did.
What I didn't take into account, since I love
hand quilting, is that drawings for
machine quilters need to be more adaptable to
continuous line drawing.

Next time I will get it right:)
In the meantime, you can find all my stencils
on the Quilting Creations site.
Mine ...
